01Program alignment
Explore professional interests, education, experience, and service preferences. Compare appropriate PAs rather than assuming a degree maps to one community.
02OCS and direct commission
Use the current manual and PA to identify accession path, required interviews, documents, and training. Professional and Reserve programs have distinct requirements.
03Testing and credentials
Confirm the PA’s applicable tests, score standards, education, GPA, licensing, certifications, and experience. Do not generalize one program’s limits to another.
04Waivers and applications
Check whether a requirement is waivable, who has authority, and how to route a complete request. A request is not approval.
05Boards and interviews
Verify current schedules and cutoffs with NRC. Prepare the candidate to explain motivation, leadership, professional experience, and informed service commitment.
06Production management and ORAMPS
Review each application milestone, missing item, owner, and deadline. Use the authorized system and the current OPO production review process.
