POLICY & PRACTICE
Enlisted recruiting
From first conversation to shipping. Find the controlling reference, prepare the next action, and keep the applicant informed.
Start with the controlling source. Verify the applicable instruction, Program Authorization, changes, and effective date. A source-directory listing or working link does not establish current policy.
01Eligibility and blueprinting
Use the current enlisted manual to organize qualification screening. Record information only in approved systems. Refer medical, legal, and waiver decisions to the authorized authority.
02Education and testing
Verify credential categories and current testing requirements before scheduling. Explain the process without predicting scores or job qualification.
03Nuclear and special programs
Check program-specific standards, screening, and current guidance. Confirm availability and any bonus terms with authorized personnel; never promise an outcome.
04Prior service and Reserve
Identify the correct accession path, current service status, and documents. Coordinate program eligibility with the responsible prior-service or Reserve specialist.
05DEP and Future Sailors
Follow current contact and recertification requirements. Surface changes promptly, coordinate support, and confirm shipping preparation.
06Enlistment interview
Use Engage, Assess, Reveal, and Win to structure the conversation. Keep official qualification screening distinct from sales discovery.
